Water treatment refused or unchanged? Check ownership, the tool and a fresh test
On 1.0.0.2, start with the updated purifier logic and a fresh test, rather than a Demo recipe. Check ownership if treatment is refused, then charge, the actual tool and remaining contaminants. The patch lowers some water equipment prices but does not publish a new purity formula.

What changed in 1.0.0.2?
The Water Purifier logic was reworked in the 28 October UTC hotfix (29 October in Beijing). The developer did not publish its new formula or a guaranteed number of nights to Pure Water. Older Demo timings and calculations below are historical observations, not a validated release algorithm. Official water change
| Patch-note item | Before → after | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Moisture Farm | 650 → 350 | Compare the current purchase offer before budgeting |
| Water Filter | 50 → 25 | Recalculate supply cost using the actual transaction |
| Dr. Jackson stock markup, Normal only | 25% → 15% | Do not apply this modifier to every difficulty or seller |
The first two are the developer’s listed prices, not guaranteed final checkout totals; the seller and current modifiers still matter. Avoid buying a replacement solely because an old price table or purifier recipe disagrees. Balance changes
For one small owned batch, record the starting test, machine/modules, charge and output message; test again after processing. If it improves, calculate the cost from the new result. If it does not, identify the remaining requirement before repeating an old treatment loop.
Why can I not process a customer’s water?
Opening a customer’s container does not mean you own it. The September patch explicitly blocks UV on unowned items and insertion of owned goods into unowned containers. Before diagnosing a broken tool, check both the water/container you are treating and the destination you intend to use. Do not buy an unknown batch merely to bypass a refusal; inspect and decide whether the transaction makes sense first. Official ownership rules
Result to look for: if the action becomes possible after a legitimate ownership change, that resolves the refusal branch. It says nothing yet about the water’s resulting quality.
Start with a fresh measurement
Test the batch with a testing strip or AquaScan. With a scanner, record the remaining contaminants as well as the overall grade. A label, an apparent colour or a container’s fill amount is not a fresh purity test. An October player thought a purifier had done nothing for a week; the resolution was that the improved water had not been tested. That is a dated player report, not a guaranteed time-to-purify rule. Two quick ways to misread water quality
| Reported mistake | Check | Not established |
|---|---|---|
| Missed test. The presenter suspects a weaker filter at 07:25, then remembers the strips and calls the water Base at 08:11–08:24. | Get a fresh strip or AquaScan reading for the batch before spending on another upgrade. | A changing spoken label does not establish a filter nerf or a failed treatment. |
| Fridge assumption. At 1:24:48–1:25:01, the presenter retracts an earlier water-improvement guess after noting that wine and unsealed water are unaffected. | Check the fridge’s item-specific description and test the water itself. A possible effect on sale value is a different question from purity. | Chilling is not evidence that this batch was purified; this comment does not establish how every sealed drink behaves. |
These are corrections in CthuLuck’s September 15 Demo commentary, not our playtest or a verified scanner-before/after sequence. They illustrate why a fresh measurement is more useful than buying equipment to fix an assumed problem. Public session
Choose the tool, then check its requirements
| Setup | What to do | Feedback / failure branch |
|---|---|---|
| Pitcher + water filter | Inspect the pitcher slot, install a usable filter, then pour a small owned batch through it | An occupied slot or worn filter needs attention before repeated treatment |
| UV light | Use for the microbial branch described by the community guide, on owned water | Remaining minerals or other contaminants require a different check, not endless UV |
| Handheld Hydratech Micro Purifier | Read its own tooltip and condition | Its officially discussed 98% target does not establish the powered machine’s endpoint |
| Powered Water Purifier | Check battery charge, actual demand and the previous-night processing message | No processing evidence leads to the power procedure, not a new water recipe |
The community guide describes UV before pitcher filtration and allows testing strips/AquaScan to confirm the outcome. It does not justify skipping a final measurement in this guide. Older pitcher reports describe one treatment slot: remove its existing tool before trying to insert another. Check the actual slot and tool condition in your build. Retest, then decide what the result means
- Write the starting reading and what treatment you used.
- Process a small comparison batch instead of consuming all supplies blindly. For a machine, keep charge/demand and its output or processing message.
- Test the result. If it improved, decide whether it meets the intended buyer’s requirement; if not, identify what remains before selecting another treatment.
- Label and bottle the result you actually measured. A different label does not prove a different quality.
An unchanged name with a better test is a labelling/measurement issue. No output and no processing evidence needs power/input checks. Microbes reduced but other contaminants remain means the remaining problem is outside that treatment’s demonstrated role. These are our diagnostic branches, not a hidden game formula.
No fixed Ghostwater-to-High-Quality/Pure recipe is promised: the older guide gives variable outcomes and video commentary is not a controlled test. The disputed water-mislabelling trick is not a dependable beginner money route.
Bottle it without confusing quantity and quality
If you need empties, older players describe finishing a water customer’s opening dialogue, then buying bottles if offered; that is an option, not a delivery schedule. Printer upgrades were added in September, so an August claim that it only ever makes small bottles is outdated. Empty containers count as Household; containers holding water count as Water. Check both contents and buyer acceptance before using them in the display. Older bottle report Official patch Buyer checks

The diagram is original editorial reasoning. A matched current-build scanner-before/after and purifier-message image is still missing; neither the video thumbnail nor this diagram replaces that evidence.
