Vending machines: get an overnight sales channel and check its real return
Vending machines sell after you close the shop. They are a separate channel from daytime display-case customers. Launch-day players report later acquisition offers, so do not assume the starting perk is your only opportunity. Compare the actual offer, any rent increase and one observed night before buying more capacity.

What does vending change?
The developer confirms that vending machines keep selling overnight after the shop closes. That gives a different sales window from counter customers. It does not mean that placing any item in the daytime display sends it to a vending machine, or that every product is accepted. Read the actual machine’s stock interaction before moving a valuable batch. Official feature
Is the starting perk the only way to obtain one?
Launch-day players report two later routes: an offer from the Landlord with a rent increase, and availability through Wild. One player mentions an offer around day 40 in their own run. Treat those as acquisition leads to check, not a fixed timetable or proof that all offered machines are identical. October 28 discussion
When an offer appears, compare the machine identity, up-front payment, recurring rent change and any stated requirements. If you decline or defer it, record what the dialogue actually offers rather than assuming that another player’s event will repeat on the same day.
Run a one-night stock check
This is an editorial measurement procedure; it does not prescribe an unverified stocking button or payout formula.
- Open the machine’s own instructions and identify the items it accepts. Use owned stock whose acquisition cost you know.
- Note the stocked quantity, cash and any stated fees before closing. Keep a separate note of a Landlord rent change.
- After reopening, inspect remaining stock, the overnight report and cash. A lower stock count alone does not identify a completed sale; look for the matching transaction evidence.
- Record goods actually sold and credits received. Keep unsold inventory separate from receipts.
- Compare another night before expanding. Change only one major input so you can tell what affected the result.
| Your record | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Mode, machine and current game version | Makes the comparison repeatable |
| Stock cost and sold quantity | Separates turnover from profit |
| Sales credited in the report | Distinguishes a sale from a missing item |
| Fees and recurring rent change | A machine can add revenue while worsening cash pressure |
| Equipment purchase | One-time investment belongs beside recurring costs, not hidden inside them |
When stock does not move
Check the exact machine, accepted goods, loading result and overnight message first. Do not diagnose it using the display-case attraction rules: those describe another sales channel. For daytime visitors, use the buyer and display procedure.
If the machine has no readable acceptance or transaction feedback, record that limitation before investing again. No current maximum throughput, automatic restocking rule, guaranteed payback period or universal item list has been verified here. The official illustration helps recognise the equipment, but does not fill those gaps. Illustration and feature scope
